Read lots of English materials
Many of you usually think “I have to know a lot of grammar to read English.” As a result, they always have difficulty with their grammar, and never touch the English material to read it. To learn English effectively, let’s do the opposite. Reading English is a way for you to learn more and understand English grammar.
Read any English materials you like: web, blog, comic books, books, magazines … You can easily use Google to search for a lot of web pages about topics that interest you: football, food, career, love, …
To add an effect, when reading, you pay attention to how the author writes, how sentence structures are used, how to split, etc. On the one hand, you just understand the grammar you have learned used in how real. On the other hand, you know new ways to use new grammar that you have not learned.
Learn where to, get there
Do not try to learn all English grammar fast. Even native speakers spend many years learning grammar (just as we learn in Vietnamese subject or in Literature). Instead of learning a lot but ambiguous, learning and forgetting, you focus on using what you have learned. Slow but sure!
Write in English
If you are just learning grammar in the form of homework grammar, filling in the blank is not enough. Writing English is the most effective and smart way to use your grammar efficiency that you have learned. You will have to use all your grammar to be able to write a paragraph that clearly expresses your ideas.
Set clear goals
You want to write a report to your boss in English easily, professionally? You want to be good at the upcoming English exam? Or do you want to easily read English books of your favorite author?
Identifying such clear goals will help you stay focused and motivated when learning English grammar. Because you understand what you need to learn grammar!
Grammar is not everything
Grammar is one of the important knowledge you need to be able to read well, write well, even support for listening and speaking. To pass the English exam, you also need grammar. However, do not let the grammar “haunt”.
